At a time when slavery was endemic in his society, Paul writes a personal and very diplomatic letter to Philemon, a wealthy, slave-owning, Christian.  Paul asks that he free his runaway slave Onesimus, now also a Christian and a friend of Paul.  As we unpack the book of Philemon we will discover insights on a healing response to injustices embedded in our own society.
